Advanced Television: Advertising, Subs Growth Boost Italian TV
Italy’s media sector generated over €12 billion in revenue last year, a 4 per cent increase from 2023, according to the annual report of the Communications Authority (AgCom). Television accounted for the majority, contributing 72.8 per cent of the total (€8.8 billion), reflecting a 7.3 per cent growth.

Panorama Audiovisual: RTL Group Acquires Sky Deutschland, Creating a Giant in the Dach Region
11.5 million payment subscribers will form the business of RTL Group. After the purchase of Sky Germany (Germany, Austria and Switzerland), an operation encrypted at 150 million euros that plans to yield 250 million euros annually in synergies.

National Technology News: Netflix Starts Using Gen AI in its Shows and Films
Netflix has used AI in one of its original shows for the first time in a bid to save costs and speed up production time. The technology was used in a building collapse scene in the Argentinean science fiction series The Ethernauts. “We remain convinced that AI represents an incredible opportunity to help creators make films and series better, not just cheaper,” the streaming giant's co-chief executive Ted Sarandos told analysts after Netflix reported its second quarter results.
