Deadline: Qatar Unveils Film & TV Incentive Offering Cash Rebate of Up To 50%

Gulf state Qatar has launched its first official film and TV incentive as part of its drive to become a major media and entertainment hub.

The new scheme – called the Qatar Screen Production Incentive (QSPI) Programme – was announced by the country’s Qatar Film Committee in the opening session of a three-day industry event gathering a raft of international, regional and local heavy-hitters.

Described by the committee as one of the most generous incentive schemes in the Gulf region, the QSPI offers up to 50% cash rebate on qualifying Qatari production expenditure.

TVBEurope: UK Ad-Supported Streaming Hits Record 23 Million Subscribers

Research published by Worldpanel by Numerator’s Q3 2025 Entertainment on Demand report (previously compiled by Kantar) shows ad-supported streaming services hit a record 23 million subscriptions in the UK, with a year-on-year increase of 6 million viewers.

The figures are closing the gap on ad-free alternatives, which accounted for 29 million viewers across the period.

BroadcastPro ME: Dubai Forms New Film and Gaming Committees to Develop Media Sectors

Dubai has announced the creation of two specialised committees dedicated to advancing the emirate’s film and gaming industries, following new resolutions issued by Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council (DMC).

The move is part of the Council’s broader mission to strengthen media innovation, support emerging creative sectors, and cement Dubai’s status as a global centre for media development.

Amazon Prime Video is testing another new generative AI-powered feature to help catch you up on a show you’ve been watching before starting a new season. Video Recaps uses AI to identify a show’s important plot points and create a short but “theatrical-quality” summary video that combines a selection of clips with music, dialogue, and narration.
